This UK band shot to prominence with comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Travis, and U2. The band was formed in January 1998 by UCL students Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion (all from England or Scottland). The band signed with Parlophone Records. Following their appearance at the Glastonbury Festival the band released The Blue Room EP and concentrated on recording their debut album, Parachutes, which featured breakthrough hits: "Shiver", "Yellow" (number 4) and "Trouble".
In addition to releasing Clocks as a single and being on such popular compilations as "Now that's what I call music", They have released "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" on Capitol/EMI Records and Parachutes on Nettwerk America. They have just put out Coldplay Live 2003 [CD & DVD] [ECD] which features : Politik, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face,Rush Of Blood To The Head, One I Love (previously unreleased), See You Soon, Shiver, Everything's Not Lost , Moses (previously unreleased), Yellow, Clocks, In My Place and Amsterdam from their world tour. and on November, 18th will release an EP, "Brothers & Sisters". Singer, Chris Martin has been in the news recently for his marraige to Gwenyth Paltrow.
